Oh please, i'm as gay as they come, but it doesn't mean that i'm gonna go over and write up deliberate negative reviews on albums i have not listed to.

What I mean is that all of those that rip on Madonna but love all of the cheap imitations do that because they know deep down that Madonna's better. wink

Hits just adjusted their predictions:

DOWN THE BACKSTRETCH: Pop icon Madonna and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood are still locked in a heated battle for the #1 slot on next week’s chart going into the weekend. Both are looking to tally some 320k-340k, but who will have the bigger weekend? Your guess is as good as ours, but give a slight edge to Madonna. Tune in here on Monday morning to find out who will reign supreme

If Madonna doesn't have the number one album, its her own fault not not performing here. If she does have one....it proves she can do it without even doing decent promotion in the US. It's all good. I really find it hard to believe Carrie will have the number one album....After Kelly and Clay (who didn't even win), I don't think any of the Idol's debuted at number one and didn't most people sing the praises of Bo Bice anyway?

according to WB they want the record to have lasting sales. they are letting the press do the promo for now and as soon as its time for the second single Madonna will be making her rounds in the States.
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

DiamondGirl

Hung Up
Push
GetTogether
Sorry

so far so great

I like how she is implementing the past on some songs:

She damn near sings love song on Hung Up, does a SOS Band Take Your Time Do It Right on another, and one of them mocks Donna Summers "I Feel Love"

I can see that a little bit. My friend said it reminded him of a harder major key version of "Don't Stop" from Bedtime Stories.

Hey, I don’t mean to be redundant as I think this has been mentioned but I really haven’t followed much on the info on the production and direction for the album other than a few blurbs here and there. I just dove in with both feet on this one so it’s somewhat new to me.

With that in mind, I don't necessarily hear disco but one of the things that I like about COAD is it definitely sounds familiar without sounding like a blatant copy (altho I agree How High screams Kylie). I know some of this is intentional but every time I listen to it (along with the Abba sample and the Can You Feel It-ish bass line for Sorry) I hear Orbit, Stardust, Underworld, Devo, Daft Punk, Pet Shop Boys, Donna Summer… the humming in Isaac reminds me of Secret, there’s something about Push that I can’t put my finger on but I’m sure I’ll figure it out and lots of other things I can’t even put my finger on. I feel like I’m listening to a bit of these artist in just one shot and that’s what keeps it in rotation.
[Edited 11/17/05 11:13am]

The humming in "Issac" always struck me as coming from "Frozen" (some reviewer mentioned that she recalls that and other tracks in the album) but yeah, "Secret", too. I think "Issac" would be a better track without Yithzak. It's not that his singing is bad....it's just it feels like a tag on and really isn't needed.
